Sonia Anton

I am a self taught painter based in the Romanian countryside, though my love for colour began in the south of France, where I grew up. My mother, a renowned artist, had her studio there, and I spent my afternoons, weekends, and any free moment I could steal painting beside her.

Today, my work is an ongoing exploration. I am drawn to the feminine figure, to the colour blue, and to the way a woman’s body moves like water, like waves. Each canvas is an attempt to capture that fluidity: the quiet strength, the gesture, the emotional current beneath the surface.

I work mainly in acrylic, building texture and layering colour until the figure feels alive. My paintings are personal, intuitive, and ever evolving, just like the practice itself.
